Deering Clinic

 

Deering Clinic/Family Practice Center provides a full range of JCAHO Accredited health services including care for prenatal, newborns, children, adolescents, adults, and the elderly. Deering Clinic/Family Practice Center is a major provider of comprehensive health care, education and prevention services.

 

CLINIC SERVICES INCLUDE:

Physicians, nurse practitioners, physicians assistants and residents provide general family medical care by appointment during daytime and evening hours. Physicians are on 24 hour call for emergency consultation.

  • Care of illnesses and infections
  • Physical exams
  • Care of health problems such as diabetes, high blood pressure, heart disease, anxiety, depression, substance abuse
  • Diagnostic laboratory and X-ray services
  • Limited urgent dental services
  • Nutritionist for dietary counseling
  • Family planning
  • Health education on an individual basis or in group classes to discuss illnesses, medication, and ways to promote  good health
  • Well child services and immunizations
  • Pediatrician for consultation
  • Newborn/children healthcare
  • Cancer screening, such as pap smears, breast exams, testicular and prostate exams
  • Limited medication assistance
  • Medical social services for assistance with financial and/or personal problems
  • Prenatal and perinatal services
  • Nursing services such as blood pressure assessments and wound care
  • In-hospital physician services
  • Preventive health services
  • Communicable disease care and reporting

To obtain refills on your medication, call 247-3238 and follow the instructions given over the phone.

The Center hours are:

  Monday through Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m

Appointments may be made by calling 247-3350.

After hours a physician is on call for patients at 657-0743.

Staff is available by phone to explain services offered.

The Deering Clinic/Family Practice Center also serves as a teaching center where our physicians work collaboratively sharing their knowledge and expertise with residents, medical students, and other students pursuing degrees in health care. The residents are under the supervision of MFPR faculty while other students are supervised by appropriate licensed professionals.
